El Bulli’s Grand Finale

Considered to be one of the best restaurants in the world, El Bulli, is officially closing its doors this month. Here’s a glimpse inside the restaurant laboratory in its final daze. It’s too bad we won’t get to experience Ferran Andria’s creativity and gastravagence in the Catalonia Bay in Spain. Having an opportunity to eat here was equivelant to visiting Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Only 8,000 guests get to eat here, out of 2 million requests for reservation this year. Hopefully, he’ll open another laboratory.

Click on links above for more info/history about the restaurant and Ferran Andria.

A few weeks ago we trekked down to Sin Diego for Independence Jam to see Lykke Li but it was too bad she supposedly had a bout of laryngitis and had to cancel her performance. Nevertheless, we had a dope time drinking beer and ate good food. One our main priorities when ever we’re down is to make it to Cafe 21 for brunch. This place is an Azerbaiijan (WIKI IT) influenced restaurant that offers great food and an array of awesome tea. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu, but their Salmon Potato Cakes take the cake. All I can say about is oozy poached egg w/ fresh salmon/potato ball over a bed of pesto drizzle. FUGGGGGG.
